Eating out while travelling used to give me so much anxiety ha! It’s still not easy but I can definitely always find something to eat now!
I’m glad that I’ve gotten flexible with this since there’s going to be much more travel in my life and I’m just glad I got over my food fears… however there still are many things that I avoid due to being celiac… so no gluten, no dairy or meat HOWEVER if there’s no other options around I will bless my food and eat it and enjoy it :) It took me a lot to get to this point but I’ve arrived ha!
I had so many issues around food, I created so many food fears for myself and eating became the main priority all the time… what would I eat? When would I eat? Could I find foods on my list?
There were times when all I ate was cucumber and zucchini thinking I was so uber healthy, no wonder I had no fucking energy haha!
I look back and just want to hug that confused girl who associated love with how lean she was… no more! I now embrace the non diet lifestyle! I am learning yes learning to enjoy food in a different way, appreciating the amazing nutrients and flavours that are in my mouth and grateful for the fact that I’m able to eat at all!
That being said I’ve found some staple places around Dominicalito here in Costa Rica. Porque No and Villas Alturas are two really good spots with great views and food that pretty much anyone can eat a healthy meal.
Both places have great pizza and fish … I still do prefer to cook my own meals I find it tastes better and probably because there is and intention and love in what I cook.
